Chelsea Shiels, 27-godišnja cvjećarica iz Australije već se godinama bavi kreiranjem i prodajom cvjetnih kruna, no jednog je dana inspirirana podvodnim svijetom, počela koristiti školjke umjesto cvijeća.

“Uvijek sam htjela biti Ariel… Pod morem”, izjavila je za Cosmopolitan.com. Godinama je skrivala svoj ‘morski’ hobi, no kako su sirene ponovno postale inspiracija modnim kreatorima, tako se i Shiels prošle godine ohrabrila i pokazala svijetu svoje kreacije.

They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery.. While I do agree and I am flattered that artist like my ideas, I can’t help feeling a little upset when I see so many people copying them unethically for profit. I had been perfecting these mermaid crowns for 2 years before I even had them for sale.. I wanted to make sure I was selling an item that was of a very high quality. It started when my beautiful floral supplier kept giving me packs of shells from her shop because they simply were not selling.. I have always LOVED shells but my room was starting to fill very quickly I thought what the hell am I going to do with all of these shells? So I started to have a play and made some shell and flowercrowns.. Although I loved them they just weren’t right! Eventually I started making just shell crowns but they were heavy and uncomfortable. It has taken lots of energy and years but I have now perfected these crowns to fit like a glove. I 100% purchase ALL of my shells, I do not take them from the beach and never would. The shells come from multiple suppliers around the world.. They are treated, reinforced and polished, I pay top dollar for top quality. They are sourced from ‘overpopulated’ shore lines.. They are collected every morning so that people can walk along the sand. Please be careful of new people trying to sell these crowns because if they are not treated or made with the right adhesives and bases they will just fall apart. Some people are just stealing from the beach to make a profit and I do not condone that! Massive big love to all of you who took the time to read this and support me everyday by simply liking my photos, I couldn’t do what I love without you all..
